Researchers at the National University of Singapore had design a new method to energy production, generating electricity out of shadows. The new Shadow effect energy generator buildup of a silicon band coated by a superthin layer of gold, generate a direct current, simply by placing a part of the device in shadow. The authors determinated that the device bring out a stronger electric current, 200% better than ordinary solar cells.
