For any manufacturing metal implants, the key of success is a good design according to the physical, chemical and biological properties, which must satisfy and comply with optimal design parameters. Nowadays, the biological interact with the human body is taking great importance. For this reason, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) in collaboration with experts in the field (SMEs) in metal implants, met with the aim of creating the work entitled "Biological Responses to Metal Implants". This paper summarizes currently available scientific information of medical implants, with an emphasis on the physiological environment, and the expected and potential responses of the immune system with an metal implant, as well as the later clinical manifestations. In the same way, it can be identified in this research, where there is a deficit of scientific information to metal implants, giving opportunities for future research.
